What HAAN does

HAAN coordinates pickup from the initial request and guardian arrival through student preparation, verification, and final release by authorized school staff.

Data the operation may need

  • School workspace and authorization data.
  • Student identifiers approved by the school for pickup operations.
  • Guardian or authorized-pickup identity and contact details supplied or approved by the school.
  • Pickup states, timestamps, verification, and release records.
  • Technical and security data needed to operate and protect the service.

Location and arrival

When a school enables a location-assisted flow, location is used in the context of the active pickup arrival. HAAN is not presented as a continuous guardian-location tracking service.

Arrival from location, an “arrived” action, or a secure link never authorizes student release automatically.

WhatsApp and notifications

Channels such as WhatsApp may be used for operational notifications or secure action links when enabled. A messaging channel supports communication; it does not replace final school-side verification.

WESSAAL and HAAN

HAAN owns the operational product experience. WESSAAL manages the workspace, subscription, billing, and commercial add-on entitlement.

Early Access and the free trial

If you enter your email for Early Access, we use it to reserve early access, associate the HAAN trial eligibility with a verified account when available, and notify you when the trial is ready. Joining the list does not start the trial clock; it starts on actual product activation.

Public marketing site analytics

We use Google Analytics on the public haan.wessaal.com marketing site only after optional consent to measure page views and clicks on trial and contact links. A new Early Access request is counted only after the backend accepts a newly registered email; previously registered emails are not counted as new leads.

We do not send submitted emails, student or guardian details, or dismissal data to Google Analytics. You can reject or withdraw analytics consent using Analytics preferences in the footer without limiting access to the site. This marketing measurement is separate from operational school pickup processing.

Retention and requests

Exact retention and deletion rules are subject to the approved launch configuration, operational requirements, and applicable legal obligations. Privacy requests can be sent through WESSAAL Support or support@wessaal.com.
